Abstract

Altered sensation after mandibular implant surgery is one of the most serious complications to patients and dentists. Initially medical treatments, including steroid therapies and vitamins are recommended. The surgical management can be considered for the refractory hypoesthesia or neuropathic pain. However, the surgical treatment for the nerve damage after implant installation is not the treatment options which we can apply to every patients. There have been no established guidelines based-on scientific evidence until now. In this review the various non-surgical managements will be discussed.
